EACC team should bury the hatchet
By Joseph G.Muthama | Updated Aug 10, 2016 at 10:44 EAT

The current differences between the chairman, commissioners and Secretariat of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) portrays a gloom picture of a body mandated to fight corruption.

According to reliable source, the parliamentary Justice and Legal Affairs Committee chaired by Samuel Chepkong’a found that the rift between commissioners and secretariat are irrefutable.

It is undeniable fact that the NYS scandal facing the anti-corruption agency chairman Philip Kinisu must have precipitated the current deep-seated divisions.

Regrettably, the current differences in the EACC are unwholesome and unwarranted at this time when Kenyans are pointing accusing fingers to the anti-corruption agency for its inability to fight the vice both in national and county governments.

In the recent past, the credibility and integrity of EACC has gone to the dogs.

The agency’s top leadership should bury the hatchet and deliver quality services to Kenyans. By washing their dirty linen in the public is tantamount to poor leadership. Otherwise, two wrongs do not make a right.
