PHOTOS: CS Amina Mohamed, Rastafarian among those admitted to the bar

Sports CS Amina Mohamed on Friday expressed her joy after she was admitted to the bar following a 7-year wait.

Taking to Twitter, the CS thanked those who made it possible saying she was privileged to be part of the event.

“Thank you Hon. Chief Justice @dkmaraga for presiding over the momentus ceremony. Honoured and privileged to have been part of it. Congratulations to all the newly admitted colleagues,” she tweeted.

Chief Justice David Maraga presided over the admission of 96 advocates on the second day, bringing the total number of new members to 198.

Also admitted to the bar was Mathenge Mukundi, a practicing Rastafarian.

Kenya’s National Council for Law Reporting lauded him for his achievement having done his pupillage with them.

“According to our policy to give opportunities to diverse members of the society,Mr Mathenge Mukundi a practicing Rastafarian did Pupillage with us last and was admitted to the bar as an Advocate yesterday.

“Congratulations to him,” tweeted Kenya Law.
