A man in Tharaka Nithi is on the run after sexually assaulting his wife over cheating allegations.
The suspect is said to have returned home on Saturday night from Nairobi, and told his wife they were shifting to another area to avoid be arrested for violating curfew rules.
According to the Tharaka South Police Commander Kiprop Rutto, the suspect and his wife left home and when they reached Kathita River, the man ordered his wife to undress and threatened to kill her.
The man, who is still on the run, reportedly put pepper, salt and sand in his wife’s genitals using a knife and later put superglue. The suspect also put superglue on the wife’s ears and mouth.
The victim, despite the horrific incident, still managed to walk to the Marimanti Police Station and reported what happened.
She was later rushed to the Marimanti Sub-County Hospital for treatment.
While giving her statement to the police, the victim says her husband started beating her and accused her of sleeping with other men during his visit in Nairobi.
Police are currently hunting for the suspect who will be charged with sexual assault.
