Nominated MP Maina Kamanda on Friday opined that President Uhuru Kenyatta should also clean up his cabinet to ensure he is working with only those who are loyal to him.
This is after the removal of Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and his colleague Susan Kihika as majority leader and majority whip.
Kamanda said that the Head of State should especially focus on Cabinet Secretaries who might have an allegiance to Ruto.
“The President should look at CSs whom he was given by Ruto and he should clean up the cabinet to ensure he works with those who are 100% loyal to him,” said Kamanda.
Speaking during a TV interview, Kamanda said Ruto should acknowledge that his time has not yet come.
Further, he said that the fact that the DP failed to show up for the meeting called by the President is enough grounds for him to resign.
“This country has one president. This is what is disturbing Ruto.
“He should acknowledge that his time has not yet come. How can you be summoned to a parliamentary group meeting at State house as the DP and fail to attend?” asked Kamanda.
Adding: “If I was Ruto I would have resigned.”
Earlier this week, five Jubilee Senators were listed for axing after failing to show up for the President’s State House meeting.
Millicent Omanga, Falhada Dekow, Waqo, Naomi Jillo, Prengei Victor and Mary Yiane were accused of gross misconduct and gross insubordination.
However, on Friday, Waqo pledged her loyalty to the President and the party saying she was outside Nairobi during the meeting but she is in agreement with the changes that were made.
