The Ministry of Health on Friday (May 15, 2020) announced free mass testing in Nairobi County between 9am and 4pm.
Through a post on social media, the ministry stated that there would be free testing of COVID-19 at: Embakasi North Sub-County – Ronald Ngala Primary School (Dandora Phase 4)Kamukunji Sub-County – Biafra Medical Centre
On Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced 21 new cases of Coronavirus in the country, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 758.
The youngest case was 7 years old while the oldest was 79 years old.
Health CAS Dr Mercy Mwangangi also revealed that out of the 21 cases, four were truck drivers who were tested at the Namanga border.
Three more patients were also discharged meaning the number of recoveries now stands at 284.
Unfortunately, two patients from Nairobi succumbed to the virus. The total number of fatalities is now at 42.
Dr Mwangangi warned Kenyans against complacency saying the measures issued should be strictly adhered to since the virus is now the new norm.
“We are thankful to all Kenyans for staying focused on the overall objective of flattening the curve. We should not become complacent in observing the various advisories and measures advocated for by Government,” she said.
Adding: “As members of the East African Community, we are in discussion with our counterparts to address the emerging trend on our borders for the safety & well-being of our people.”
