Two Cabinet and Six Principal Secretaries who were appointed by President Kenyatta are set for vetting from Thursday onwards.
This is following the National assembly speaker's notification, which is expected to be passed to the House today in the afternoon session.
The two CS nominees include Mutahi Kagwe appointed as Health CS, while Ms. Betty Maina was appointed as Trade and Industrialization CS.
The other six appointees for PS positions include Ms. Mary Kimonye for Public Service, Simon Nabukwesi for Education University and Research, Solomon Kitungu for Transport, Jwan Ouma for Vocational and Technical Training, Enosh Momanyi for Physical Planning and Johnson Waweru for Trade.
The House was to hold a sitting tomorrow before a postponement, owing to the declaration, which meant the day a public holiday to mourn the death of the second president of Kenya Mzee Daniel Toroitich Moi, who will be buried on Wednesday.
A special sitting will be held today at 2:30 p.m. as the legislators seek to condole with Moi's family.
"Upon resumption of the House on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, I shall convey a message from HE the president to the Assembly House so as to cause the commencement of the necessary vetting processes contemplated under the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval) Act and Standing Order 45 (committal of public appointments to committees)," read a past statement by the speaker Justin Muturi dated January 23, 2020.
