Joy at the Supreme court as Chief Justice finally admits 205

Jubilation has filled the Supreme Court of Kenya this Morning as Chief Justice David Maraga has admitted 205 qualified lawyers to the Roll of Advocates.

In an event attended by the President of Law Society of Kenya Mr Allen Gichuhi, the Acting Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, the Registrar of the High Court, Members of the Bar, parents, and family, the Chief Justice urged the new Advocates to uphold the rule of law and administration of justice.

This event allows the Advocates to sign legal documents and represent the client in court actively.

The 205 are among over 800 others who have been waiting for this event since November 2020. During the event, the lawyers were fully robbed and took an oath, which copies are held by the court.

Notables in the fete include Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro, lawyers Kamotho Njenga, Ikran Ali, Debora Sese, Zacharia Mwangi, Dorcas Mutua, Thomas Injoli, Jessica Detho, Lisa Achieng, Lokitano Joseph, Solomon Musyoka, Jan Kamau, Laura Kyalo, Cynthia Bondi, Tony Godia, June Njoki, Boru Gollo, Kelvin Njuguna, Muketha Koome, Jack Bwire, Val Mugaza, John Obera, Phiona Ogoi, Adams Anunda, Ogega Christine, Brian Onyango, Wachira Gachoka and Bonaventure Otieno.

Over 600 other lawyers are also set to be admitted in a similar manner by 13th February 2020.
