New year new me? Well, just hours after Kenyans ushered in 2020, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria revealed his resolutions.

Through a post on his page, the legislator stated that he plans to deactivate all his social media accounts except WhatsApp, saying he will not write anything on Facebook or Twitter in 2020.

Kuria also vowed to quit alcohol as part of his resolutions.

“Happy New Year 2020 good people. For those who thought they know me: I am deactivating my Social Media Accounts (Except Whatsapp) throughout 2020. See you in 2021. This is my last post of the year

“I am off alcohol throughout the year 2020…Tukutane kwa ground,” he wrote.

Kuria was one of the most vocal politicians online and he never shied away from weighing in on national issues.

Though termed as reckless by some, Kuria is never afraid to speak his mind and recently, he rubbished claims that President Uhuru Kenyatta intends to extend his stay in power.

The legislator said he is certain the Head of State will follow the footsteps of former President Mwai Kibaki and will not influence the succession race.

“As the MP for the President, I would know of such a scheme way ahead of retirees like Murathe. I genuinely believe that Uhuru Kenyatta is only interested in a better Kenya and not looking for a position for himself.

“I am certain the President will not want to suffer the ignominy of sacrificing his legacy at the altar of such transient goals. And I am even more certain the President will follow the footpaths of Kibaki and he will neither try to influence his own succession let alone campaigning for anyone,” he remarked.

Adding: “Those parking their caravan trucks outside State House waiting for Uhuru Kenyatta to don campaign regalia are wasting their time. Uhuru Kenyatta is only looking forward to a stable, peaceful and prosperous Kenya and a blissful retirement.”
