Rapper Kennedy Ombima popularly known as King Kaka on Friday, December 20, 2019, once again hit the headlines after his latest tweet.

King Kaka joined Egerton university students in using the #EgertonHeist which they used to decry hefty fines imposed on them by the institution.

This came after the school senate came to an agreement that all students pay a total of Sh16,862 to clear damages caused after demonstrations witnessed in the university in early December.

“Changing Kenya, calling out Corruption when we see one. #EgertonHeist #Wajinganyiyi” read King Kaka’s tweet.

A majority of Kenyans online were quick to show appreciation to the musician’s involvement in matters of national interest.

Dr Kilimo - Thank you @RabbitTheKing... We need everyone to hear this Madness!!! We can't live like this!

Hon Obuntu - @RabbitTheKing Anakuwaga role model wangu since tenee..I wish to meet him.

Gooner Eurychus - King Kaka shame them. What did the students destroy at Egerton University to be asked to pay 16862?

Ruth Karanja - Thanks for your support.... Until our grievances are held we should not rest... We are the only one who can change Kenya #egertonheist.

Egerton University was closed indefinitely on December 4, 2019, after students staged demonstrations in protest attempts to lockout students with school fee balances from sitting for exams.
