DCI responds to viral video of man being beaten by alleged ‘CDF staff’ for criticizing MP

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Thursday, November 21, 2019, responded to a viral video that showed a man being brutally beaten by two men.

Shikoh Kihika, a twitter user, posted the video and described the attacked man as a needy student who went to apply for a scholarship at Bomachoge Borabu Constituency Development Fund (CDF) office.

He added that the men who appeared on the video attacking the boy, were staff of the CDF office.

The victims identity is yet to be known.

According to Kihika, the boy criticized and opposed the current Member of Parliament (MP) of the area.

“A needy college student went to apply for a bursary at the Bomachoge Borabu CDF Office. The staff at the CDF Office administered instant 'justice' on him for opposing and criticising the current MP” Read the tweet.

The DCI responded by deploying detectives based in Kenyenya to investigate the matter.

They further called for the man who was assaulted to make a point and reach out to them through their Kenyenya Office.

“DCI Detectives based in Kenyenya commenced investigations into this matter with the sole aim of bringing all those involved to Justice.”

“Meanwhile, the assaulted person is hereby invited to contact the DCI office in Kenyenya for further action. Thanks” read a tweet by the DCI.
