Kenyans send hearty messages to former president Mwai Kibaki as he turns 88

Kenyans online on Friday, November 15, 2019, went to social media to pass their warm messages to former President Mwai Kibaki as he turns 88 years.  Kibaki was born on November 15, 1931, and served as the third President of the Republic of Kenya between December 30, 2002, and April 9, 2013.

In their messages, many applauded his leadership, humour and his contribution to the economy of Kenya.

The messages include:

As President, Kibaki is remembered for his work in the education sector which brought about Free Primary Education that enabled millions attend school with ease.

He also made great strides in the revitalisation of the agricultural sector.

That is, he opened up failed irrigation schemes and the mechanization of agriculture, initiatives that led to a boom in Kenya’s agriculture.

The iconic Thika superhighway, ‘A masterpiece for East Africa’ as he described it, which granted millions of people ease of access to the capital was another achievement that Kenyans applauded.
