Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu was on Sunday, November 3, 2019, interrupted by Deputy President William Ruto’s helicopter as she gave her speech campaigning for ODM candidate Imran Okoth.

The Governor was, for a while, forced to stop what she had prepared to say to respond to the helicopter flying by.

Ngilu shamed the DP for the act and dismissed him as someone trying to gain access to the area.

“Alikua anafanya survey vile sasa ataingia hapa, si mnaona akipita juu yetu… Shame on him, shame on him”

“He was doing a survey on how he will get here, haven’t you seen him fly over our heads,” Said Governor Charity Ngilu.

This happened after ODM party leader Raila Odinga brought a number of governors to Kibra in efforts to gather votes for ODM’s candidate in the upcoming Kibra By-election.

The Deputy President has been at the forefront in campaigning for Jubilee party’s candidate for the Kibra constituency seat McDonald Mariga.

The by-election is expected to take place on Thursday, November 7, 2019.
