Coffee lovers now have a new flavor to try out courtesy of Villa Rosa Kempinski.

Ever wondered how gold tastes like? Well, the 5-star hotel got you covered.

Expertly made using Kenyan coffee beans and formed milk that is blended with 24-carat edible gold, the drink goes for just Sh 5500 and the hotel’s Food and Beverage Manager Mohammed Mohammed recommends it after a long day in the busy Nairobi streets.

It comes in a gold cup and is decorated with rose petals from Italy.

“Gold cappuccino is just not a unique drink. It is an inspiration of health and wealth and is something we are trying to introduce to the Nairobi people.

“There are many benefits of edible gold and it is smooth on the skin…makes you relax. It is something that is needed after a stressful day in Nairobi,” he said.

Mohammed maintained that the drink is non-toxic and the special cappuccino is 100percent edible.

“The 24-karat pure gold used to garnish our special Cappuccino is 100 percent edible.

“The gold is an inert metal which easily passes through the human digestive system after about 24 hours unchanged without causing any harm or reaction on the body,” he remarked.
