Popular radio host and commentator Mohammed Juma Njuguna is dead.

Njuguna passed on Saturday morning after a long illness at a city hospital.

He was widely considered one of the greatest voices to have ever graced Kenyan airwaves.

The news was confirmed by his daughter Haluwa Mohamed who posted “Inalillahi wainailahi rajiuun Just lost my dad Mohammed Juma Njuguna,” on her Facebook page.

His friends and fans also took to social media to condole with the family and described the deceased as a great colleague and mentor.

“It is a sad day to us here for the loss of this Great Mentor and personal friend Mohammed Juma Njuguna. You have been my best friend all through, I envied you and was blessed to work with you for five years.

“May you rest in eternal love Sir and as you would end your programs, "ulale salama wewe na hali zako," wrote one Harun Maina.

“Innalillahi wainna ilaihi raajiun. Pumzika kwa amani Mohammed Juma Njuguna. Ulisifika sana katika tasnia ya uanahabari,” added Sophia Chinyezi.

Until his demise, Juma was working as a content producer at Radio Citizen.
