Officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested the fifth suspect who went into hiding.

Innocent Samba and four others were captured in a viral video assaulting Kevin Mango.

The four were identified as Robert Momanyi, who contested for the Makadara parliamentary seat on a Jubilee ticket in the last polls, Collins Neriko, Stanley Rimbere and Stephen Kimeu.

Mango was reportedly invited to a house in Nairobi’s Kilimani area for drinks by Momanyi.

On arrival at the venue, Mango was allegedly attacked by the five who clobbered him for several hours.

He managed to escape at around 4am and reported the matter at Kilimani Police Station.

Samba was arrested on Thursday evening after a week-long manhunt and will be arraigned on Friday.

“Samba-who was wanted-has been arrested this evening by DCI_Kenya Detectives. The suspect was captured on video seriously assaulting a man … We thank the public for sharing the information,” DCI posted on its official Twitter handle.

The other four suspects were arrested last week and charged with causing grievous harm on Mango.

Milimani Chief Magistrate Martha Mutuku released each of the suspects on Sh300,000 bail after they denied the charges.

The case will be heard on June 13.
