The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) this week arrested a man who was conning unsuspecting members of the public in the name of Majority Leader Aden Duale.

The lawmaker also took to social media to expose the former University of Nairobi student, and urged Kenyans to ignore messages that he is offering scholarships.

“James Ombui Oire runs a fake Facebook page that impersonates Hon Duale. He cons Kenyans by asking them to send Kshs. 2,000 registration fees using the phone number 0720886964 and 0722134712.

“Mr Oire has been apprehended by the DCI to answer charges of impersonation.

“PUBLIC NOTICE. Members of the public are advised to ignore messages circulating on social media indicating that the Office of the Majority Leader of the National Assembly of Kenya, Hon. Aden Duale, is offering 10,000 scholarships to students across the country...,” wrote the MP.

The legislator further posted a photo that had been uploaded by the suspect regarding the supposed 10,000 bursaries.
