Homeboyz Radio presenter Didge has apologized for his distasteful remarks following the brutal killing of Moi Univesity student Ivy Wangechi.

In an interview with a local daily, Didge expressed regret at what he said on air and admitted that he was insensitive.

Earlier this week, Didge stated that the deceased had lost her life because she was not loyal.

“I was on air with minimal time at my disposal to think through what I would say. Honestly, I hadn’t sat down and prepared to say what I said.

“Now I wish I did not say those words. I got wrong the sensitivity of the timing,” he said.

Further, he maintained that no one deserves to die due to love-related squabbles and apologized for the ‘goof’.

“I am a father; I am a grown man, and the last thing I would want to do is subject my fellow parents to unwarranted pain.

“Having replayed my words again and again, I can now say – soberly – that no person deserves to die due to love-related squabbles,” he said.

Didge was suspended indefinitely by the radio station and according to an official statement seen by Ureport, the remarks were made on April 9, 2019, during the Mtaani Show — a show that focuses on hard-hitting views of day to day occurrences in the country.

“We have removed the show from the schedule pending further internal investigation. The presenter in question has also been immediately suspended by the station,” read the statement in part.

Listeners of the show also took to Twitter to express their rage and said that it was disrespectful of the presenter to make fun of the deceased.

The late Wangechi was attacked by her childhood friend Naftali Kinuthia outside the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.
