Brain cancer warrior Jadudi aka Emmanuel Otieno lost his life on Monday this week and his mum has revealed what happened moments before his demise.

Speaking to a local daily, Adhiambo Otiende stated that she was by his son before he breathed his last and slept for a few minutes before feeding him.

She was later woken up by a nurse to give him drugs but when she tapped Jadudi there was no response.

“I have been with my son here throughout and I just fell asleep…then I was woken up by a nurse to give him drugs. But when I tapped him he did not respond.

“That is when I realized he has left us,” she said.

The former University of Nairobi student had been admitted at the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) since October 2018 and has been battling a cancerous tumor in his head.

Despite several surgeries to remove the tumor, Jadudi’s situation worsened and he had been in hospital for the better part of the past two years.

On Tuesday, Kenyans on Twitter (KOT) were quick to pour in tributes, describing the deceased as a fighter who had a never-say-die spirit.

“Fare thee well. You fought the fight with bravery.”

“You tried to breath honey. You tried. Sleep well.”

“IF CANCER was to rate the warriors against it, it will have given the late Jadudi a special recognition. He took on cancer like a wounded lion would fight its prey. We celebrate your courage and resilience to live. You had full reason in your season on earth. Go well.”

“Rest in peace @Jadudi. You fought a long, hard fight. It is ok to rest now. We will never forget your courage.”
