Police are holding two suspects in connection with the killing of Likuyani MP Enock Kibunguchy’s driver last month.

Confirming the arrest, Jackson Onyango, county head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), said the two were arrested in Njoro, Nakuru County, on Sunday.

He claimed those arrested were directly linked to the driver's shooting.

“Our officers trailed the suspects from Kakamega to Njoro and managed to arrest them. We believe they are directly connected to the armed robbery and killing and will help us in further investigations,” he said.

A mobile phone was recovered from the suspects on arrest, and it was later confirmed to belong to the legislator. It is believed to have been stolen on the day of the killing.

“Mr Kibunguchy has since identified the phone as his," said Mr Onyango.

The suspects were later taken to Eldoret, where they are expected to appear in court.

Elsewhere, a Kenya Wildlife Service officer was arrested yesterday for threatening his father.

Police recovered 40 rounds of ammunition, two new magazines, three smoke jackets, three jungle jackets and a pair of boots from the suspect.
