Help me raise Sh78,000 to finish Diploma in PR: says Matatu tout
By - Jan 1st 1970
A matatu tout who scored 178 marks in his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations at Kangemi Primary School and fought all odds to complete his secondary is appealing for assistance to pursue a diploma course.
The 26-year-old Isaiah Thiongo is studying public relations, customer service, and community development at the German Institute of Professional Studies. He is however unable to raise the balance of Sh78,000.
Thiongo who works at Super Metro Sacco says whatever he earns is too little to support his fees.
He sat for his KCPE in 2010 and dreams of furthering his education to a doctorate level. He completed secondary education at Highlink School and scored a D plain.
“I was one of the brightest students and also became a head boy in school but due to many challenges, I used to work on weekends at a carwash to support my mum and fund my education, besides working at construction sites,” he says.
Thiongo later joined an empowering program, Generation Kenya that sponsored him to pursue a certificate course in financial sales.
