A Nairobi mechanic has been charged for allegedly committing an indecent act that is against the law.
According to the charge sheet, Boniface Oyoo Mireri touched a woman on the breast and bottoms without her will on February 8 within Industrial area.
He is also said to have used language likely to cause a breach of peace.
It is stated that the complainant, who is a food vendor, was serving clients when Mireri is said to have told her to reduce her behind since it was too big.
She told him off but he allegedly went ahead and touched her inappropriately, forcing her to raise an alarm and members of the public came to her aid before escorting her to report the matter to the police.
When he appeared before Makadara Principal Magistrate Eric Mutunga, Mireri claimed the vendor acccused him after being incited, adding he is in the process of settling the matter out of court. The case will be mentioned on March 22.
Hearing will start on June 21.
