Kisumu man remanded for chasing mother with a panga over land feud
A man charged with threatening to kill his mother will have to look for another home after he is released on bond.
Levy Logonze, who is said to have chased the mother from her home while armed with a machete, is no longer welcomed at the home.
Senior Principal Magistrate Johnstone Munguti told the man to take his time and think of where he will live.
“If you bring women to your mother’s compound, where will you take them and you don’t have a house?” Munguti paused.
Logonze was denied a bond and the court ordered he be detained at Migori police station.

Logonze is alleged to have on April 14, at Magina in Suna East, threatened to kill his mother.
According to the charge sheet, Logonze told his mother ‘Nitakuua’ (I will kill you) while armed with the machete.
Court documents stated that Logonze’s mother was in her house with her in-laws and had just prepared supper when the son arrived.
He asked his mother why she was going around the village talking ill about him.
But before she could explain herself, Logonze is said to have picked a machete and threatened to kill her.
His mother ran out through the back door and into a maize plantation where she spent the night. The scared in-laws also took to their heels.
While in court, Logonze’s mother said that a piece of land had been sub-divided amongst her three sons but the accused sold off his portion and bought land elsewhere.
He, however, did not build a house on the land he bought, forcing him to start living with his mother.
“Since he came back he has been a nuisance to me,” the mother said.
However, Logonze told the court that his mother has been having issues with him whenever his female friends visit.
The case will be mentioned on May 11.
