Unprescribed blue pill? You will come and go, medical experts warn

In the eyes of the social media beholder, it is never good for a man to collapse and die, especially if the departed is a male Kenyan politician.
Your end will be met with giggles and wisecracks. “It was viagra,” the gossip mill rules, like they were present when you were popping em’ blue pills, and right there when your dog tired heart gave up the ghost.
When former Wildlife and Environment minister Karisa Maitha died of a heart attack in a hotel room in Germany, viagra was blamed. Same case was Senator Mutula Kilonzo.
And recently, when a senator fell after spending a couple of weeks in the ICU, social media users went orgasmic, blaming viagra and a female companion who had been assisting police with investigations.
The chatter made Dr Gideon Toromo, who is Baringo County Health Chief Officer, wonder why young men have embraced sex enhancing drugs mostly recommended for the elderly.
“Basically, viagra increases blood supply ‘down there’ in men to rise to the occasion and make then strong, warm and firm. In the process, there will be a compromise for men with high blood pressure because the vessel taking blood to the heart is thin,” he said in a recorded video.
He added: “After using a sex enhancing drug, a lot of blood is channeled to the penis, meaning the heart will run short of supply leading to a heart attack. On the other hand, poor supply of blood to the brain after using Viagra could lead to stroke.”
Toromo says unless advised by a doctor, men can rise to the occasion without any support so long as they love the woman.
“Viagra is recommended for men aged 60 and above if necessary because it helps to divert blood down there. It is sad that cases of young men using it are on the rise and they end up losing their lives,” he stated.
For the elderly, the good doctor advises them to eat a lot of vegetables and avoid red meat.
“Men, who are 60 or older, are not in hurry to get children thus, they should wait for natural composition instead of using enhancing drugs. Young men, on the other hand, should avoid these drugs until they are 60, if necessary…people who have diabetes, stroke and hypertension should also avoid it,” he said.
