Producer Tedd Josiah: Here's why I will never marry or date again
Celebrated Kenyan music producer cum fashion designer and one of Kenya's most eligible bachelors, Tedd Josiah has declared that he will not marry or date again.
The self-branded ManMom turned CEO of Jokakok Luxury Bags says he is devoted to caring for the daughter he shares with his late wife Regina Katar and that "Bringing someone else in the picture will only destabilize his daughter."
In 2017 Tedd, 51, lost his wife Regina just three months after the birth of their daughter. He adds that: "I don’t need anyone. Right now, my focus is JJ and bringing someone new into her life will destabilize her. She is still young to understand what is going on and I’m very sensitive about that,” said Josiah on social media, adding that he is raising a girl with a very strong character and personality and that means that she has to be comfortable that any person that comes to his life will not break her up.
Their daughter is now a vibrant 3 year old tagged youngest CEO by her father.
"Im building the dreams of a great lady who passed away with the wish that her legacy would live," he
"How many women would marry a man busy building an empire for his daughter to inherit from her late mother?" he asked.
For Josiah that is difficult, moreover, "Dating game nowadays is full of men and women ready to have a fling for a moment and a good time and that no one is ready to roll up their sleeves for both the good and the bad times, for the highs and lows."
He says that people criticize when one hits the lows.
"Finding a soulmate is an extremely beautiful thing. To have a life partner is to have a person that believes in you, not your money, not your status nor the material things you own but you as a human."
Tedd has other children, but he only shares moments with his youngest arguing that he keeps them off social media for the sake of their privacy.
In 2008, he walked out of his first marriage to start a fresh in the UK. In an interview with Grace Msalame he explained why.
"You know how you are told you grow up and must get married, and these are the boxes you have to tick and you must do x, y and z. You must live in a certain way. I was just ticking boxes and then I realized I don’t even love this person and I’m actually on a daily basis breaking her and she is breaking me,” the Joka Jok luxury handbag founder said.
In his hey days as music producer, Tedd is credited for producing albums for Gidi Gidi Maji Maji, Kalamashaka among other legends.
