Despite breaking his shocks and losing brakes in Kedong', Kenya's Carl Tundo is determined to make a podium finish at this year's World Rally Championships (WRC) Safari Rally.

Tundo said the predicament he got at Kedong on Friday had made him lose a couple of minutes resulting in him losing the lead after the first flag-off.

He, however, said it had made him stronger.

However, since he didn't drop out, Tundo said "I'm determined to ensure we finish at a respectable position after the predicament in Kedong and possibly at the podium."

Tundo in the company of long time co driver Tim Jessop are driving a Ford Fiesta.

He said he had also suffered two punctures in the second stage of the rally at Kedong but resolved to continue with the rally, which has the last stages on Sunday.

World champion Kalle Rovanpera is still at the lead.

When asked to explain what Kenyans didn't know about him, Tundo jokingly said "I'm left handed".

He said he has two children - a son and a daughter all aged 11 and 10 years.

"My son also wants to follow in my footsteps as a rally driver, which definitely he has to be supported," said the former rally champion.

On his hobbies, Tundo said: "My main hobby is that I like spending most of my time with my family".

Tundo is also a fun of music as he loves all sorts of music so long as they are good.

"I'm a fun of all sorts of music including Rhumba and country music. I like good music but not any music," he said.
