Police in Nakuru County are investigating the murder of three men whose bodies were on Friday evening, October 14, retrieved from Dundori Forest in Nakuru North Sub-County.

Nakuru North Sub-County Police Commander Samson Andanje said the decomposed bodies had physical injuries.

The bodies were discovered at 4pm by locals who had been contracted by a government agency to clear a section of the forest.

Sub-county police boss Andanje said the residents alerted the area assistant chief, who submitted the report to his office.

"We went to the scene and found the bodies of three youthful men placed next to each other. They appeared to have been tortured as they bore physical injuries," said Andanje.

The Nakuru North police boss suspects that the victims were killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped in his area of jurisdiction.

"Within my area of jurisdiction, I haven't received any missing person's report. I, therefore, believe the victims were killed elsewhere and the bodies dumped in Dundori Forest," said Andanje.

A section of the residents, who spoke to The Standard, said the bodies had decomposed and "appeared to have been burnt using acid".

"It was a sad scene. The bodies were naked, placed next to each other and had visible physical injuries, including burn signs," said a resident.

The bodies have been moved to a Nakuru morgue for postmortem as investigations continue.
