Controversial TikToker Brian Chira has acknowledged his mistakes and offered an apology to those he has wronged through his actions.

Speaking during an interview on Kiss FM, Chira, who was recently locked up for allegedly defaming Azziad Nasenya, said looking back, he feels he has let down his close friends and relatives.

He added that he is willing to iron out things with Azziad but only if she is willing to have a sit-down.

"I do regret everything. I would have done better. If the other party is willing to sit down and have a chat, I am ready," he said.

Chira, 22, added that he was suspended from Kabarak University for two weeks and his caregivers were disappointed in him.

He said he intends to do things better as he learnt some valuable lessons during the period he was locked up.

Despite his huge following on socials, Chira said only four people came to visit him and it dawned on him that a cultic following doesn't necessarily mean you have genuine friends you can count on.

"Ever since the whole thing started...within my conscience that was not okay. I could have done better.

"It has taken a toll on my close friends and relatives...I have become a nuisance to everyone," said a reflective Chira.

He added that he intends to take a social media break to cool off and do some introspection.

"I want to take a break from social media," he said. "I will switch off my phone, take my KSh 10,000, and chill somewhere. I need to figure out who I am and what I want in life," he said.

Chira admitted that fame got to his head and the overnight celebrity status made him think he was better than others.

As a result, he ended up pushing away people who genuinely cared about him because he thought they had ulterior motives.

"I'm sorry to friends who I have been toxic to. I have come to realize that I have been so toxic to friends who really cared about me, but I have never known they had good intentions. I thought they were trying to use me for the fame that I was gaining. They were there to hold me, but I didn't see it," Chira said.

Adding: "I woke up one day and found myself an internet sensation," he said. "Fame got into my head, and I started to think that I was better than everyone else. I started to push people away who I thought didn't deserve to be in my life. I was wrong, and I'm so sorry."
