The 2021 Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League will come to an end on Saturday with two teams in Zone B fighting for the last spot in the quarterfinal playoffs set for June 19.

A total of seven teams have already qualified for the playoffs with the unbeaten Thika Queens leading Gaspo Women, Ulinzi Starlets and Zetech Sparks in Zone A qualified teams.

In Zone B, defending champions Vihiga Queens, Mumias-based Wadadia and Nakuru Queens have also qualified.

The battle for the final spot will be decided on the final day of the regular season with Trans Nzoia Falcons and Kisumu All Starlets the candidates for the spot.

Trans Nzoia are currently fourth with 19 points, two points behind All Starlets.

Kisumu All Starlets will travel to play Wadadia in Mumias as Trans Nzoia face holders Vihiga Queens at Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Vihiga Queens head coach Alex Alumira is hoping they can continue their fine streak.

The league leaders thrashed Kisumu All Starlets 3-0 last weekend to take their points tally to 37 from the opening 13 rounds.

“We want to end the season on a high note and transition to the playoffs with a winning team. A win on the final day will be a morale booster to the girls who will be gearing up for tough matches in the playoffs,” he said.

“I can say we have improved a lot since our last match against Nakuru Queens. There were some lapses especially in our defence and striking departments but I am happy with the improvements.

Other fixtures will see Mathare United Women host Zone A leaders Thika Queens at the Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi as Nakuru Queens entertain SEP Ladies at the Nakuru show ground.

Zetech Sparks will lock horns with Ulinzi Starlets at the Ruiru grounds, Kibera Soccer Ladies will meet Kayole Starlets at the De Paul grounds in Nairobi while the last fixture of the day will see Gaspo Women playing Makolanders Ladies at the Stima Members Club.
