The 2022 Men's African Volleyball Club Championship kicked off on Sunday at- Kelibia beach hotel, Tunisia.

The Technical Meeting for the championship which took place on Saturday May 7th 2022 saw 16 teams pooled in four groups from Sunday May 8th through May 17th starting from 15pm.

Kenya will be represented by Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) AND Equity Bank.

The dockers who are Kenya Volleyball Federation second runners up are pooled in group C against Ivory Coast's VC Espoir INJS Volleyball Club INJS together with Ethiopia's Madda University.

Kenya's General Service Unit withdrawal from the tournament gave bankers Equity a chance to take part in the competition and are pooled with Port Doula of Cameroon and Nigeria's Customs and Rwanda's Gisagara in group D.

The defending champions Esperance will have to prove that they deserve to retain the trophy. All the pools will play a round robin format with two teams qualifying for the quarter finals.

Cameroon has three teams with Kenya, Tunisia and Ethiopia having two representatives.

Egypt, Nigeria, Ivory Coast and Rwanda each have one team.
