General Service Unit (GSU) were yesterday crowned the 2017 national men's volleyball champions.

GSU, who relinquished the title to Prisons Kenya in 2015, finally reclaimed the title with an unbeaten record at the national playoffs at the Makande indoor gymnasium in Mombasa.

In their final match, GSU defeated Co-operative Bank 3-0 (25-17,25-18, 25-23). Captain David Kirwa starred for GSU, while Stanley Mutua and Martin Kimondo were instrumental in the bankers' campaign. [Ernest Ndunda]
