Nairobi Club beat Joy Town 3-0, (25-9),(16-15),(25-20) from Thika in the Sitting Volleyball National Club Championships league-cum-pre-World Cup qualifiers at the Nyayo National Stadium.  The global event will be held in Poland in 2013.

Nairobi Club has been training for the last two months for the championships and, according to the captain who is also the national team captain Boniface Mureithi, the team is on form because most of their players also play in the national team.

“The team is on form and we expect to win all our matches in the championship since most of our players are in the national team. And the fact that we do our training more often will help us ,” said Mureithi.

The championship that is played in a league format will be used to select a club that will represent the country in the 2013 club championships.

“From here we are going to Kasipul from  August 9-10. In December we will be in Mombasa for the same championships,” said Kenya Sitting Volleyball Federation Chairman, Duncan Karanja.
