South African sprint runner Oscar Pistorius murder has begun in a South Africa's Supreme Court today.
According to mirror sports, the sentencing is expected to end years of legal battles following the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
The former Olympic sprinter was originally convicted of manslaughter after he blasted Reeva to death at his home in Pretoria in the early hours of Valentine's Day 2013.
The conviction was upgraded to murder by South Africa's Supreme Court last year and judges have said Pistorius has no more options to appeal.
Original trial judge Thokozile Masipa will begin hearing pre-sentencing arguments at Pretoria High Court on Monday, with Pistorius expected to discover his fate by the end of the week.
