Most of world beating Kenyan stars will not compete again after today's sixth IAAF Diamond League meeting in Birmingham, England, in the hope of making team to the Rio Olympics.

World 10,000m champion Vivian Cheruiyot (pictured), 2011 world 1,500m silver medallist Silas Kiplagat, two-time world 3,000m steeplechase silver medallist Conseslus Kipruto, world 3,000m steeplechase bronze medallist Brimin Kipruto and IAAF Diamond League speedster Bethwel Birgen will head home to rest.

Vivian, who finished third in Eugene, said she wants enough time for her Olympic preparations.

"I will compete and head home. I need to do more training back home. I really need that Olympic medal," she said.
