A businessman from Embu caused drama when he allegedly deflated an MCA’s car tyres for parking the vehicle on  private property.

It is alleged that Mavuria MCA, Joseph Mwaniki, left his car outside a supermarket and proceeded to his rented office.

The supermarket’s owner was angered by the MCA’s actions, claiming he had denied his customers parking space.

They however denied deflating the vehicle’s tyres.

Speaking to The Nairobian, the MCA denied the allegations.

“The county government would be collecting parking fees from motorists who shop at the outlet if the businessman had not converted his private plot into a parking lot for his customers. The move is illegal,” he claimed.

He appealed to the County Assembly to come up with punitive measures against ‘arrogant’ businessmen, whom he claimed owed the county billions in unpaid rent and were thus responsible for the slow pace of development.
