Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Charity Ngilu has asked Kitui residents to consider her as their next governor.

Speaking when she met leaders from Kitui West in Kabati market, Ngilu said she had what it takes to lead the county.

"You know me. Don't you? When I joined politics in 1992 I worked towards improving the livelihoods of our people. If you elect me as your governor in the next polls, you are assured of a dedicated servant leader," Ngilu said.

Leaders from Mutonguni, Kauwi, Matinyani and Kithumula/Kwamutonga wards endorsed Ngilu for gubernatorial seat. The current Kitui Governor is Julius Malombe.
