Arsenal midfielder returns to action next week after season-long layoff

Jack Wilshere in action for Arsenal

There is now a sense of certainty the Gunners midfielder will play for their first-team before the league campaign ends

Jack Wilshere believes he will definitely play for Arsenal before the Euros — and could appear in a comeback game as soon as next week.

The 24-year-old England international is set to resume full training and there is a chance he could even feature when the Gunners' under-21s face their Newcastle counterparts on Friday week.

Midfielder Wilshere has yet to kick a ball this season because of a broken leg suffered in training last August and is facing a race to be fit for the European Championship.

Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson is determined to pick him in the squad he'll take to France in June, and now the Arsenal star is stepping up his training, allaying fears of another setback.

Even if Wilshere does not play next week, there is a growing confidence and a feeling of certainty he will be back in the Gunners' first team before the end of the Premier League campaign.
