Bwana Governor, where’s my money? — Musician Babu G

Nyamira governor John Nyagarama

A Kisii-based musician is accusing Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama of refusing to give him his cash reward.

Nyagarama is reported to have promised to reward Davison Mong’are aka Babu G for composing the Nyamira County anthem, but has reportedly refused to pick the musician’s calls.

“I have been here in this hotel since last week, and I have been spending my own money all along. No one is communicating. We are now set to return to Nairobi,” said the Ujinga Ni... hit maker at his hotel.

The singer was to receive an undisclosed amount of money as reward for advertising the county through his song.

“If he intends to reward me, he might as well send the money through mobile money transfer because we won’t be coming back these sides anytime soon,” said a disappointed Babu G, whose anthem is a captivating tune laced with renditions of harmonised beats describing the areas  great economic potential in Nyamira.

Nyagarama’s personal assistant, Kefa Mocheche, told The Nairobian that the governor  was interested in meeting Babu G, but had many engagements.

“We will give them another appointment once the governor is rested,” Mocheche said. The governor did not respond to our text messages and phone call by the time of going to pess.
