Manchester United star Marcus Rashford banned from dressing room

Teenage goal hero Marcus Rashford isn't allowed to change in the first-team dressing room at Manchester United's training ground, reports Steve Bates in the Sunday People.

Rashford, who scored the winning goal against City in the Manchester derby at The Etihad Stadium last Sunday, has helped save United's season with five goals in eight appearances in the last month.

But I can reveal the 18-year-old strike sensation - and the rest of Louis van Gaal's young debutants this season - haven't yet earned the right to sit alongside the senior stars at the club's Carrington complex.

Tough Dutch boss van Gaal insists Rashford and other first team youngsters like Guillermo Varela, James Weir, Joe Riley, Donald Love and Regan Poole must change in the Under-21 dressing room with their own age groups.

After donning their kit Rashford and the rest of van Gaal's youngster then join up with the senior players like David de Gea, Juan Mata, Michael Carrick, Daley Blind, Morgan Schneiderlin and Anthony Martial on the first team training pitch.

When the session is over they then return to the Under-21 dressing room – and it's the same for lunch. The youngsters sit in their own age group while the senior stars lunch together.

Van Gaal, his assistant Ryan Giggs and new Acadamy boss Nicky Butt want to keep their young stars grounded and aren't keen to give the stars of the future all the first team privileges immediately.
