Amsha Mama: Candy n Candy records CEO launches initiative to empower women

Kenyan music mogul turned philanthropist is back with yet another initiative, the Amsha Mama Festival. The program's patron, Joe Kariuki who also founded  the Smile A Day initiative aimed at fostering positive attitudes officially launched Amsha Mama in December 2015 at The Tribe Hotel.

Amsha Mama is a brainchild of AFWAB, African Women And Beyond, and is all about pulling mothers from all walks of life up and taking them to greater heights by connecting them with relevant people and resources. The initiative targets mothers of all ages.

"There’s nothing as powerful as putting our mothers in contact with each other. Some are sellers, others are buyers and we want to bring resources together to open more doors of opportunity," says Joe.

The cause will culminate in a mega convention in March that will see over 20,000 women from Kenya and other African countries converge in Naivasha.  The women will showcase their business and crafts. It will also be a great opportunity for people of various talents to show what they can do.
