Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy could be set for a loan move to Germany, according to Calciomercato.

Bayer Leverkusen are the latest team to be linked with a temporary switch for the former Newcastle full-back, who has lost his place in the team to Hector Bellerin.

He was reportedly poised for a move to Aston Villa, but Debuchy himself has touched on their financial situation.

He said: “Aston Villa are in great difficulty, and that’s why I’m taking time before making a decision. They’re a big English club, and I’m not ruling out the possibility. I have also talked to Remi Garde over the phone.”
