All is well with Daniel Ojambo Adongo, says the father of the first and only Kenyan playing in United States (US) of America's National Football League.

Joe Adongo, Daniel Adongo's father told The Nairobian that contrary to the media reports linking his son to domestic trouble in America, the young Indianapolis Colts linebacker is actually doing fine and is going on with his usual training program.

"I can confirm to you that all is well with Dan (Adongo)," said his father Joe.
"We have not heard anything much about the alleged incident apart from what is circulating on electronic media. He is fine and so far so good," he added.

Last week, The Indianapolis Star, a morning daily newspaper based in Indianapolis, the capital of the US state of Indiana, sensationally reported that the local police had twice in the past three months been called to the Fishers’ home to investigate potential domestic violence case against Adongo.

According to the report, NFL confirmed that indeed investigations had been opened over the Kenyan under ‘its personal conduct policy’.

According to IndyStar, on October 24, 2015, a woman told police that she was afraid of Adongo, and did not want him to return to his residence, but “was not forthcoming with any information in reference to these incidents,” — according to the police report.

The said lady allegedly indicated that there were arguments over the past several months. The woman reportedly said Adongo would not be staying at the home that evening, and she was going to end the relationship. Meanwhile, the Kenyan star visited the Fishers Police Department, a police report indicated.

According to the police report, Adongo had indicated that he has an ‘open case’ with the NFL and was limited on what he could say. The report reads in part: “Adongo advised that the information (the woman) provided is inaccurate and that the NFL Investigators have all the information to prove that.”

However, NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy would later respond by email to questions from IndyStar regarding the case stating: “We are aware and it’s under review.”

On a separate day, the police would again return to Adongo’s place on December 10, 2015 after Dawn Monks, who said she is a friend of the woman, told them she had received text messages from the woman reading “911” and “help.”

Monks told police that Adongo had previously kicked open the bathroom door, grabbed the woman by the throat and held her underwater in the bathtub, according to the report.

The woman further said that Adongo had allegedly punched multiple holes in the walls damaging appliances, the woman’s car, furniture and cell phones in a previous incident.

When police spoke to the woman, she was covering herself with a blanket. Police noted that she had a black left eye, a large cut on her lip and marks on her lower wrists.

Indianapolis Colts dropped Adongo from the starting team and used an open roster spot to promote cornerback Tay Glover-Wright to the active roster.

But his father said: “That is normal occurrence in the team, but what we know is that he is still a member of the team and we expect the best from him.”

Adongo’s mother, Beatrice, told The Nairobian in an earlier interview that, “In another world, Adongo would have been a priest because he followed Church teachings strictly.”
