Sir Alex Ferguson sitting up and talking? - updates as legendary coach recovers in hospital

Legendary Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson is recovering well in hospital after undergoing emergency surgery for a brain haemorrhage on Saturday, May 5.

He has been in intensive care since he collapsed at his home in Cheshire.

Admitted to Salford Royal Hospital, Fergie’s prognosis is said to be ‘good’ and his closest of friends are being updated upon any development.

According to a tweet from the club's verified Twitter account, Ferguson’s surgery went well but the gaffer still needs time in intensive care for him to recover.

Several news outlets in England reported that Friends of the gaffer claimed that he was sitting up and talking, asking about the results though this has not been confirmed by the family or the club yet.

“Sir Alex Ferguson has undergone surgery today for a brain haemorrhage. The procedure has gone very well but he needs a period of intensive care to aid his recovery,” read part of the post.

Football figures from all over the world wished Fergie quick recovery through social media:
