Kenya Polo Association (KPA) has named the national women junior team for a number of test matches against hosts Zimbabwe in Harare on June 8-10.

KPA chairman Gordon Millar named the team whose total handicap is eight include captain and handicap two Archie Voorspuy, Tiba Gross (handicap two), Isabel Parsons (handicap two) and Joss Haig handicap one).

Apart from Gross, who is training and working in Lusaka, the other team members have been training in the last three weeks under Richard Stonewigg at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil.

“The rest of the squad will join Gross after they are through with training sessions in Gilgil and then depart for Harare,” said Millar.

The federation will also name the national junior men’s squad next month for some test matches against Zambian national team in Lusaka from July 19-21.

The test matches involve junior men and women teams drawn from different clubs across the country. The women’s team leaves on June 7.

“Selectors have not picked the four men's players for the Zambian championships. But once we are through with the women’s team that's heading to Zimbabwe, we’ll select the squad,” said Millar.

Meanwhile, Kenya will invite Zambia national women’s team for test matches that involve senior teams at Manyatta Polo Club in Gilgil on July 19-21.

At the same time, national senior men’s team will travel to Zambia for some matches in either Lusaka or Mezabuka.

Millar said they will be notified of the hosting city of the tournament by the Zambia Polo Association before the end of this month.
