Taekwondo: Nairobi clubs dominate tourney

Nairobi clubs ruled the Pamoja March to Greatness national Taekwondo championships at Visa Oshwal Academy, Mombasa.

Shoko Taekwondo Club of Nairobi were the overall winners after bagging six gold and two silver medals, while Nairobi's Mirema School bagged three gold, seven silver and eight bronze medals to finish second.

Mombasa-based Mikindani Club were third with two gold and three bronze medals. In the boys' Under-9/10, Willis Odhiambo (Shoka) defeated Mark Munyua (Mirema) while in the boys' Under-11/12, Dong Thiongo (Mirema) beat Shoko's Joseph Ochieng.

In the girls' Under-7/8, Mweleso Mwijaji (Shoko) defeated Mirema's Cady Wangechi. [Ernest Ndunda]
