Ireland soccer star James McClean tied the knot with his long-time sweetheart Erin Connor yesterday.

Torrential rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of the glamorous congregation who filtered into St Columb’s Church in their home town of Derry.

Friends of the 27-year-old West Bromwich Albion winger were on hand to celebrate the nuptials.

Everton’s Seamus Coleman, Burnley and Northern Ireland star Daniel Lafferty and Blackburn Rovers defender Shane Duffy were all in attendance.

James’ best man was former Derry City goalkeeper Eugene Ferry.

The 23-year-old bride arrived four minutes late in a vintage Bentley with her father and emerged under white umbrellas to enter the chapel.

The couple’s two children, Allie-Mae, two, and eight-month-old Junior James were carried up the aisle in the bridal procession behind their mother, alongside five bridesmaids and five groomsmen.

Their honeymoon will have to wait until after Euro 2016 as James will join Ireland teammates next Friday at the Aviva Stadium for a friendly against the Netherlands.
