Kabras Sugar teach Strathmore rugby lessons in Kakamega

Last season’s runners up Kabras Sugar on Saturday picked their ninth consecutive bonus point victory after thrashing Strathmore University 32-3 in a Kenya Cup match staged at the Kakamega Showground.

George Nyambua and Walter Okoth each bagged a brace as Jerome Muller’s charges maintained their unbeaten run in the league.

The win saw Kabras stretch their lead at the top of the standings to five points.

The sugar millers are top with 45 points, five more than second placed KCB on 40 points. KCB defeated Oilers 23-18.

Jeanson Musoga landed the first try of the match to give the hosts a 5-0 lead after missed conversion by South African star Ntabeni Dukisa.

Bryceson Adaka added a second try after a quick build up play to stretch the lad to 10-0. Dukisa missed again from the twos.

Moments before half time, Okoth grabbed his first try and Kabra’s third of the match before Fijian full back Jone Kubu took over the kicking duties to convert for a 17-0 lead at the breather.

In the final half, Jack Angawa converted Leos only three points from a penalty before Okoth bagged his braceand bonus point try for the hosts and in the process stretching the lead to 22-3.

George Nyambua added two more unconverted tries as the millers won 32-3.
