Leaders Shamas face Catholic Monks as KRU Championship resumes

The KRU Championship enters match day four on Saturday as the quest for Kenya Cup promotion goes a notch higher.

Leaders Shamas are away to third placed Catholic Monks while second placed Mean Machine make the journey down to the coast to tackle South Coast Pirates who currently sit in the final semifinal position.

The University of Eldoret plays host to a double that pits Eldoret and Kisumu in the opening fixture before host UoE Trojans take on Western Bulls.

USIU Martials and Northern Suburbs will clash at the Impala Club.

Meanwhile, Mean Machine’s Trevor Arina is the leading points scorer.

Arina has one try, three penalties and six conversions totaling to 26 points.

He is closely followed by Adam Mugo who has 20 points following four tries scored in the opening three matches.

Marvin Karungi’s hattrick against Eldoret RFC puts him third with 15 points.

Western Bulls Andrew Odhiambo and Shamas Foundation Ham Namisi are tied on 13 points.

Ken Mogata has 12 points to his name. Austine Ochieng, Paul Mukhisa, Alex Mwange, Timothy Lugalia have 10 points having scored two tries this season.
