Max Allegri is reportedly holding off from taking a job as he monitors the situation at Manchester United, where Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is under pressure.
Allegri left Juventus last summer after guiding the Serie A giants to an eighth consecutive title.
And while Allegri was linked with the Arsenal job last month, the 52-year-old is still looking for his next challenge.
The Gunners were dissuaded from approaching Allegri, as the manager is holding out in the hope of landing the United job, according to the Daily Mail.
The publication reports that Mauricio Pochettino is also keeping an eye on developments after being sacked as Tottenham boss.
The Argentine was linked with the United job when the club parted company with Jose Mourinho just over a year ago, but lost out when Solskjaer was handed the job after impressing as caretaker manager. Solskjaer is not believed to be under any immediate danger of the sack, having overseen a mini-revival of United's fortunes before Christmas as they hauled themselves up to fifth in the Premier League.
Things were looking up for United after a run of results that included wins over Tottenham and Manchester City.
But Solskjaer's task apears to have become much more difficult as they have won just two of their last six games, and are facing an injury crisis which has robbed them of £80million center-back Harry Maguire and key midfield pair Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.
United have lost two of their last three games and drew the other one, which resulted in them facing an FA Cup replay against Wolves next week.
And Solskjaer admitted that the first-half capitulation against City in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Tuesday was the worst his side had played all season.
