Kibicho exits powerful Interior ministry as new PSs take office

Some of the 51 Principal Secretaries Monday took office after a brief handing-over ceremony.

At the Ministry of Health, Susan Mochache handed over to Medical Services PS Peter Tum and his counterpart for Health Standards and Professional Management Josephine Mburu.

Tum had served as PS in the Ministry of Health before he was moved to Labour Ministry on March 1, 2019.

"I handed over. I am thankful to God for the opportunity I had to serve as the Principal Secretary @MOH_Kenya it has been a journey of great lessons. I wish my successors the very best as they move forward the health agenda," Mochache tweeted.

At the Harambee House, Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo took over the powerful ministry from his predecessor Dr Karanja Kibicho.

"I have spearheaded the preparation of these reports and I bear full responsibility for their accuracy, but the handing over for this ministry is not something you can do in 20 minutes. It's going to be lifelong and I remain available for you in case of any clarification," said Kibicho.

Omollo said he was happy, prepared, and looking forward to serving Kenyans in the critical security portfolio.

Prof Julius Kibet Bitok took over as Principal Secretary for Citizen Services. Colleta Suda handed over the Gender portfolio to Veronica Nduva while Capt Ismail Maalim took over from Charles Sunkuli in State Department for Youth Affairs.

At the Cooperative Bank Building, East African Community PS Kevit Desai handed over to PS Abdi Dubat.
