Former Kasipul Kabondo MP Oyugi Magwanga will serve as Wanga's deputy.

Hot contest

The Homa Bay gubernatorial race had 10 aspirants before seven stepped down in March 2022. Wanga's closest challenger was former Nairobi governor Kidero. The third aspirant, Mark Raudi of United Democratic Alliance got 1,244 votes.
